I used the new Makala shark bridge uke to lead a few songs during worship yesterday (MasterPiece Church is a low production, simple congregation ). I had changed out the strings to Nylgut and it sounded bright and alive. It is so satisfying to get such a great sound out of an inexpensive and fun looking instrument. These Makalas are fabulous! I have four of them that I keep around for student use. But this one, with upgraded strings, sounds so sweet that I may just use it as my primary soprano ukulele.
